This was painted on January 30, 1936 by A F Hummel. This is a nice painting After, Segur Gulbransen’s Baby crying that was used as the cover on the Chicago Daily News on Dec 7, 1935. The frame is not original because it is newer. The painting however looks great in the frame. All I know about Segur Gulbransen is he was an artist in the 1930’s who made paintings for the magazine Chicago Daily News. I found more than one of his paintings on newspaper covers. I know he was born in Oslo and was a Norwegian. I am not familiar with the artist who painted this adorable picture. It is signed on the lower right bottom A F Hummel and dated 1-30-1936 and says,"After Segur Gulbransen", The frame matches the babies hair color. The picture measures 13 inches tall and 10 inches wide. The frame measures 15 inches tall and 12 inches wide. The painting is on canvas but not on canvas board. I think it would look great in an older frame. It is behind glass. The frame looks nice with light normal wear. The painting has no holes, restorations or scratches.
