This platter is in great condition. There are no chips, cracks or crazing. There is some wear on the gold, mainly on the bottom 2 swirls that is commensurate with age. The fish is a transfer with a hand painted gold rim. It measures 21-1/2 inches in long, 9 inches tall and 2 inches thick. Since these platters are hand thrown they very slightly in size. CT Germany was first part of a mark used by a company in Altwasser, Germany (now part of Walbrzych, Poland), in 1845. The mark was used by Carl Tielsch. The Hutschenreuther firm took over the company in 1918 and continued to use the CT. CT Germany was used by the Hutschenreuther firm even after the Altwasser factory.
