This woman is gorgeous. She is one of the Famous beauties of Germany, Helene Sedlmayr. Helene Kreszenz Sedlmayr (12 February 1813, Trostberg Munich) was a German beauty of the 19th century. She was considered the epitome of Munich's beauties. A shoemaker's daughter, she became known to Ludwig I of Bavaria when, at the age of 15, she supplied toys to his children. He commissioned a portrait of her from Stieler for his gallery of beauties. In 1831 she married the king's valet Hermes Miller (1804-1871) with whom she had 10 children. Her original portrait was painted by artist Joseph Stieler from 1826-1850. It is in the Palace Schonheitengalarie with 35 other girls picked out by king Ludwig. The good king wanted only the most beautiful girls. They were drawn from all strata of society. This beautiful portrait transfer is on porcelain. The porcelain tile is in great condition with no scratches or cracks. I would say it looks absolutely beautiful. This piece measures 9 1/2 " tall and 7" wide. In frame it measures 18" tall and 16" wide. The frame looks nice but shows minor wear on edges.
