Marilyn Kirkman worked in oil, watercolor and ink. Now she has developed a way to continue her art in spite of macular degeneration. Silk and dyes are manipulated to create a highly textured and brilliantly colored painting. This beautiful floral watercolor was done before she started textured paintings. Marilyn came to Colorado in 1963. Her statement is, “I paint for myself-and hope that you, the viewer, will like it”.
This beautiful watercolor is titled, ”Spring”. The painting measures 7-1/2 inches tall and 9-1/2 inches wide. I see no tears, water damage or foxing. The original gold metal frame has a small dent at the top center and a couple small scratches on the edges. Frame measures 11-1/4 inches tall and 14-1/4 inches wide. The verso has a paper identifying the artist.
