Still-life of apples in a white porcelain compote and oil lantern with ivy. Signed lower right, “Helen C. Craig.” On the verso is a paper tag from some kind of art show with the title, “Red Delicious.” Painted in the 1960’s I see no holes or restorations. I do see an area of paint loss (or missing varnish) but I can not tell if this was from the artist as it blends well with that area of the painting. (Located under skinned apple please see picture) Painting measures 20 inches wide and 24 inches tall. The original wood frame measures 24 inches wide and 28 inches tall. The white with gold highlights frame has some light scratches and wear that are not very noticeable. This painting would look great in an entry way or end of a hall.
