I was going through a box of my Great, Great Grandmas old stuff and came across these old children’s mittens. She (Lydia Woodbury Chase), was born around 1801 and died 1859. I am not sure how old she was when she made these mittens. It is very rare to have the name of the person who made old items like this. I am definitely not an expert on mittens so please refer to all photos as part of the description. I do see some small miller holes that are commensurate with age. These would look great in a shadow box. They measure about 6 inches tall and 3 inches wide at the bottom. She also made a carrot pin cushion that already sold. Her name was on the paper inside the box of her treasures. I already gave the paper to the previous buyer of the carrot pin cushion. The box has more items I will be listing in the future.
