Painted in the 1960’s. I see no water damage, tears or foxing. I do see some paper ruffling along the edges. This unfortunately is unsigned but could have been a student of Dali. It is a Rabbit under the Mad Hatters hat next to a tea cup and saucer. Possibly with the thought of Alice in Wonderland. Painted with a quick hand, a rainbow of colors then different colors of watercolor and white oil paint drizzled across the surface. Looks like the artist used the blunt end of a brush to indent some of the features then traced it with black ink. I had it remove from the frame to clean the inside of the glass. When I did they noticed the paper of the painting has heavy brown paper protecting. The edges front and back as if they took 2 in wide tape and folded it in half to cover the front and back of the paper. This gave it a rigidness but unfortunately captured some ruffling of the paper along the left and right edges. Written on the back of the mat is the name, “Rickman” which was probably the original owner who had it framed. An ink stamp from, 'Art Craft Framing, Denver,' is on the back cardboard. Still in its original frame that has a small chip out of the bottom and minor black paint loss around edges. Hanging on a wall the flaws of the frame are not very noticeable. I did have the hanging wire replaced as the old one was not reliable. If you would like new back paper please let me know and I will have it added for you free of charge. The painting measures 15-3/4 inches wide and 21-1/4 inches tall inside the mat. The wood frame measures 22-1/2 inches wide and 28-1/2 inches tall.
