This 1930s Germany mold blown silvered glass clip-on Christmas ornament is a parrot, I believe. It's 5 inches long including the spun glass fibers tail. Despite the visible mold seam lines, the feathers and facial features of the bird are very well defined. The ornament was originally silver but now has a pearly white appearance due to the way the inner mercury has aged. You can see a little faded pale yellow and pink paint at the back of the wings and top of the head.
The parrot is mounted to the tin clip on double coiled spring legs, allowing it to tremble with any movement of the tree branch. The spun glass tail appears to have been glued in place at some point. The almost-white coloring makes the ornament look great on a traditional green Christmas tree.
