A large blown mercury glass swan Christmas ornament from 1930s Germany. It has a tail made of spun glass fibers and hangs from the tree by an antique gold feather tinsel cradle. The ornament is a full inches long to the end of the tail, 3-1/4 inches high to the top of the head.
The wings are painted brick red and black/green. The swan's belly and lower neck are a pearly white color, caused by normal age deterioration of the inner silvering. There are no chips or breaks. The ornament hangs well and displays beautifully.
