A pair of vintage Japan beaded mercury glass Christmas tree garlands. The blue is 8 feet 4 inches long and has wired paper star stoppers at both ends. The purplish-pink magenta garland is just a little longer and also has both star stoppers. I clipped off most of the broken beads so there's some extra string on each length. The measurements given are for beads only, not additional string.
The single beads are about 1/4 inch diameter. The blue coloring is has some shading variation due to normal aging but the finish is good. The magenta beads gave some flaking of the color and look more antique, though both garlands are from the same early 1950s time period.
