This unusual vintage glass Christmas ornament was made in Germany, either in the late 1930s or just after World War II in the late 1940s to early 1950s. It's a blown glass flower indent round silvered ornament, wrapped in fine crinkled wire and framed in a white chenille star.
Extending from the pike at the bottom of the ornament is a 3-1/2 inch comet tail made of spun glass fibers. The tail looks shorter in the pictures because I didn't realize it was pushed into the pike and could pull out to a longer length. Overall length is about 6-1/4 inches. The silvered glass ornament is pink with a blue and yellow tinted center flower indent. The wire wrappings have shifted some at the back but are not loose or broken. The ornament has no damage.
