This is the larger Christmas tree top version of Glo-Star Lucite plastic light reflectors. Glo-Stars, originally made by another company and later sold to Noma, were individual or single layer 5-point transparent plastic star collars for Christmas light bulbs, popular in the 1950s. This much more uncommon tree top star is a double layer star, transparent red (or green) and clear Lucite, 4-3/4 inches diameter. They were designed to be used with the buyer's existing C-7 type light strings but this one comes with a single socket cord. The center star openings are marked with a patent number that dates to 1949.

Both red and green center stars are included. You can change the coloring of the clear outer star by changing the color of the bulb, or by switching out the center star for another color. The photos show the different effects when you change the color of the light bulb. The clear star has a larger center hole to accommodate either standard C7 or larger outdoor C9 type bulbs. The 6 foot white cord has an on/off switch and is in good working condition as are the stars.
