This is a 1940s Noma Illuminated Christmas Halo Angel tree topper. She has a hand painted composition head and movable arms, rayon-mohair platinum blond hair, long glittered silver foil wings, and a silver foil crown headband. At the back of her head is a metal star halo in front of a clear plastic candle halo which fits over the light bulb to illuminate the angel's face.
The doll is 8 inches high from head to the bottom of her white and silver plastic gown, the silvered foil paper wings add about another 2 inches in height. Her dress hides a cardboard tube which slips over the top branch of the Christmas tree.
One of the angel's wings is torn and taped in place (the left wing torn at hinge, next to last picture). The wings have several creases that are not torn. The corded light socket is secured to the angel's back with wire wrapped around her waist. Her hair is mussed but no badly so, and her dress has some mild age yellowing. The face is in remarkable condition for her age, considering how easily this type of composition face crazed, cracked, and flaked. The box bottom is in good condition, the lid has several splits around the window opening. A patent number dating to 1940 is printed on the box.
Due to use of both fixed price and weight based shipping, the calculator will often be way too high on multi item purchases. Don't be alarmed if shipping seems crazy high, just wait to pay until I can adjust your shipping to actual.
