These charming 1950s flat backed porcelain dancing angels by Yona have blonde hair, blue eyes, and gold trimmed pink and blue robes. They're about 4 inches high. The backs are marked Yona Original Japan. Both are in very good vintage condition with no damage, just some old price sticker residue on the backs. They are widely thought to be Christmas ornaments, but I believe they were marketed more generically year round for use as wall decorations.

Yona Lippin was a decorator for Hedi Schoop before starting her own California ceramics business in the 1940s. By the mid 1950s Yona Ceramics contracted to have their products manufactured in Japan.
