This scarce and colorful Shiny Brite figural glass Christmas ornament is from the late 1930s to early 1940s. It's in an Oriental style lantern shape with thin horizontal ribbing. Normally these ornaments are found in solid colors, but this one is decorated in shaded pink-red with a chartreuse green center band outlined in thin stripes of golden yellow. The ornament is a little over 3 inches high, the largest of two sizes made in this style. These lantern type ornaments were discontinued shortly after the start of World War II and were not brought back into production. The ornament is just beautiful and in excellent condition with no damage, just a couple minor spots of color wear to the light pink. Both sides are shown in the photos.
