Beautiful late Victorian to early 1900s unsilvered glass fruit Christmas ornament from Germany - a realistic pear. The super thin clear glass ornament is realistically painted in pale yellow with a speckled pink blush, and a dab of black at the bottom. The paint has just a touch of fine cotton fiber mixed in for a soft finish. The back of the ornament has a less than 1/4" diameter spot of missing paint with the clear glass showing through (it looks dark due the black background in the photo). The paint is crazed in that area but the glass is not cracked. About 3-3/4 inches high. See my other listings for a companion peach ornament.
