This unused 1950s child's dime store toy is almost shocking in its inappropriateness by today's standards. Titled "Big Chief Indian Target Game", it features an illogical space ray type plastic gun with four rubber tipped darts and six standing plastic Native American Indians to shoot down. Made by the Arliss Toy Company of Brooklyn NY, the cardboard header bears an ironic seal that reads "Educational, Scientific".
The toy is complete and sealed in its original package. The plastic has a square cut just below the header, probably where someone removed a price tag. The rubber bands holding the yellow plastic Indian figures in place have disintegrated, but there is no damage to any of the toy pieces.
