A pair of scarce Shiny Brite figural glass Christmas ornaments from the late 1930s to early 1940s in an Oriental style lantern shape with thin horizontal ribbing. The ornaments are 3-1/2 inches high, the largest of two sizes made in this style. These lantern type ornaments were discontinued shortly after the start of World War II and were not brought back into production. The colors are bright red and gold. They have a few dark spots from inner silvering loss. The gold ornament has a band of clouding just above the shoulder, also from age deterioration of the inner silvering. The pictures show both sides.
