This type of big-eyed, fancy dressed and coiffed Christmas boudoir doll was very popular with teenage and pre-teen girls in the 1970s. The 13 inch doll comes in her original cardboard box titled Ms. Santa. She was made in Korea but there is no maker's name on the box, only an American distributing company label. The doll is the same type and style as those made by Bradley.
The doll's body is nylon cloth-covered with articulated fingers and posable arms. Her large, colorful eyes have lush painted long eyelashes. Her blonde hair is covered by a red velour Santa cap and she has a matching fur-trimmed cape over her ruffled white satin braid trimmed dress. The lower openings of the cape are decorated with lacquered holly berries and satin leaves. She holds a purse in one hand. Her wired hoop petticoat keeps the skirt full and flouncy, though it's a little crushed from many years of storage in the box (a bit of indirect steam will remove the minor wrinkles).
The doll is clean and her hair is still perfectly coiffed. There's a faint light brown mark above one eye - maybe paint or old glue. At the back shoulder and hat there are two small spots of clear glue from manufacture. The box has taped bottom flaps and quite a bit of wear as shown.
