This is a scarce complete boxed set of six 1950s Shiny Brite gnome, elf, or dwarf Christmas putz figures, made in Japan. The approximately 3 inch high gnomes have either pinecone or spun cotton bodies, chenille arms, legs, and beards, flocked paper caps, and hand painted hard plastic faces. Little chenille loops on their hats allow them to hang on the tree as Christmas ornaments, though each is attached to a mica coated cardboard base and will stand on its own. One of the six figures doesn't appear to be musical - he holds a spun cotton lantern.
The elves are in excellent, like-new condition. The only sign of wear is to the edges of the gold foil horn, probably because it extends from the box window a bit. The cardboard box says "A Shiny Brite Product, Musical Dwarf Band, Set of Six, No. 8650, 6 Pcs Made in Japan". The box has grease pencil prices on two lid flaps, otherwise it's also in excellent condition with no tears or splits.
