A Mid Century shiny silverplated buffet chafing dish set by Oneida in their Sea Crest pattern. The pan is 12-1/4 inches diameter by 2-1/2" deep and has an elegant black wood handle. The lid is a pretty incised pattern that coordinates with the graceful scroll work on the pan rim. The liner/water pan and the burner are present and are original.
The stand, however, is marked "English Silver Mfg. Co. Made in USA by Leonard Silver". I had no idea it was a marriage until I took pictures of the marks (the set was purchased this way from a Wyoming estate). I'll bet the pieces got mixed up at some potluck dinner and no one noticed. All pieces are in spotless, super shiny condition with no damage or tarnish. There are minor table wear scuffs on the underside of the pan. The burner wick has been lit so the set was used at least once.
