A unique set of two tiki era tall and skinny embossed copper art pictures from the 1950s or 1960s, depicting a man and woman in tropical settings. The barefoot woman has a basket of fruit balanced on her head and holds a little boy in her arms. She wears large dangling flower earrings and a long fringed flowered skirt.
The other picture shows an island man from back holding an oar, looking toward two sail type boat. with palm trees in the background. On the horizon at the top of the picture is a temple type building with palms on an island.
The plaques are nearly 23 inches high by 5-3/4" wide. The embossed thick copper sheets are mounted on sturdy fiber board with hangers at the tops. I used to have a smaller, square version of tropical people tooled copper pictures, but these are more Mid Century Modern and in my opinion, more interesting. Please forgive the poor photo quality. We're currently experiencing numerous fires throughout the area and the smoky air makes my pictures look cloudy and off-colored.
