This 1980s Old Dutch brand solid copper mixing bowl is used for beating egg whites - the copper and egg white create a chemical reaction that helps stiffen the mixture quickly. It's fine for dry mixing too.
The round-bottom bowl still has the original hangtag and has not been used. It measures 8-1/4 inches diameter by 4-1/4" deep and has a brass hanging ring. Apparently an unused gift that was put away and forgotten, there are a few minor tarnish specks inside and some darkening of the lacquer coating at the bottom, both easily removed with copper cleaner. The lacquer has a few shallow, tiny scuffs from storage. It doesn't appear the underlying copper is scratched and these marks should disappear when you remove the lacquer (instructions inside the hang tag).
