These antique painted tin candle holders were made to clip onto the tree branches and hold lit candles in the days before electric Christmas lights, circa late 1880s to the turn of the last century. Eleven are a leafy arrow or pine cone shape with three vertical lines and a circle medallion running down the centers, about 1-5/8 inches long. Each has four crown-topped tin spikes to hold the candles.
The other four have serrated tips to grip the tree branch and winged pinch ends embossed with botanical leafy vine decoration. Two are marked Germany on the backs, the others are probably German made as well. The lead gel paint has expected wear but the clips all work properly and there is no rust.
