A box of 12 mostly Shiny Brite silvered glass Christmas ornaments decorated with stenciled scenes and greetings, made in the 1940s and 1950s. They're about 3 inches high and 2-1/2" or larger diameter. The decorations include bell clusters, snowy trees, children's toys, a winter barn scene, and a snowy village church scene. Two ornaments including a scarce purple color have the Humpty Dumpty nursery rhyme scene.
All but two of the ornaments have the distinctive scalloped metal Shiny Brite caps. The ornaments have typical spotting and finish wear consistent with age and use but no chips or breaks. None look new. The 1940s Uncle Sam and Santa Shiny Brite box bottom is intact. The lid has missing flaps and edge splits (see first photo).
