This late 1930s silvered blown glass spire Christmas tree top ornament was made in Germany. It comes in its original covered box, stamped Germany on one end. It measures just under 10 inches high. The glass globe below the spire tip is indented, painted with gel tints of green and yellow. The outside is red with white mica comma stroke leaf decoration around the rim. There are no chips or breaks. The lower tube opening has lost its inner silvering due to contact with pine needles, but the silvering is bright and shiny everywhere else. The red gel paint has faded to a pale orange color at the back of the globe. The box has some writing in pencil at one end but is intact with no tears.
