Make your own Enid Collins style jeweled and sequined bucket handbag with this complete, unused craft kit by General Crafts. There is no sewing required. The kit is for purse number 1154, Wedgwood Blue - natural Irish linen with jeweled flowers and butterflies in shades of blue and white with goldtone accents and hardware, white vinyl trim and handles, and wooden bottom.
The purse measures just over 11 inches high not including the handles. It's 12 inches wide across the bottom, tapering to 10" wide at the top. A double vinyl pocket it attached to the upper back wall, one open, the other zippered. The bag color looks greenish in the box photo, it's accurate in photo number 5 showing the kit contents. Everything is sealed and unopened, though it's doubtful the glue bottle is still good after 50 years. Illustrated instructions and placement guide is included, as is a color catalog showing the full line of 12 Regency handbag kits.
I purchased the kit unopened, wrapped in the original cellophane. I noticed a tear to the cellophane and water staining at one end of the box, so I opened the kit to make sure the contents were not stained or damaged. Everything is fine, though there is minor greening to some of the brass rivets at the center back of the purse (see the greatly enlarged last closeup photo) - it's not even visible at any distance.
