A complete set of six 1950s Japan Christmas putz elf, dwarf, or gnome figures with spun cotton and real pinecone bodies, still in their original Made In Japan cardboard box. The two gnomes with pale green flocked hats have hand painted molded clay faces, the other four have hard plastic faces. Each figure holds something: a bottle brush tree, spun cotton lantern, foil stocking, package. Average height is about 3 inches, the two clay faced gnomes are a little taller.
The larger gnomes have some missing pine cone tips as shown and one has a stain at the side of his hat from old glue discoloration. The gnome with the bright blue hat is missing the little chenille loop. The plain manila cardboard box has a label at one end as well as the words "Little Men" written on 2 of the lid flaps. My pictures are terrible due to poor lighting - their coloring is better in person.
