This unsilvered glass Christmas ornament was made in the 1940s during World War II. It has its original paper cap with a black cotton string cord and measures 2-1/4 inches diameter. Thin red and blue stripes or rings decorate the semi-opaque off-white background finish. Age has caused the red paint to fade toward dark pink but look closely and you can still see the original red color. The stripes were hand painted and are a little uneven. The ornament has one "bad" side with some scratches and a spot of snow flocking, shown in the second picture.
