This 1940s Rio Hondo of California pottery cat figure may be a razor blade bank rather than a coin bank. The slot at the top of the cat's head is wide, and the bottom has a small drainage hole but no means to remove any coins. The cat has hand painted brown face and paws with a green bow on beige. It has crazing and some tiny, faint marks to the back of the head from some dummy's magic marker (mostly removed, see photo) but no damage. Original foil label reading "Made In California, Rio Hondo Potteries, El Monte Calif".
Also included is a Rio Hondo little fawn or deer figurine, 3 inches long by 2-1/2 inches high. No label or marks. No damage, just some very light, fine crazing. No label, unmarked.
