This 1920s celluloid Santa figure by Irwin Toys was often found in children's stockings on Christmas morning. It's a different, uncommon style, with very well defined, expressive facial features including teeth, tied rope belt, and floor length long coat. Santa carries a flower basket over one arm, his hand holding onto the end of the toy sack slung over his shoulder. Notice the other hand - it's reaching around his back to pat the baby doll peeking out of his sack.
The Santa is in very good condition with no splits, punctures, or dents. There is light wear to the red paint, mostly around Santa's cap and at the sides - places where he'd be picked up. With the excellent molding and wonderful antique look, this is one of the best celluloid Santas I've seen. Marked on the back Irwin Made in U.S.A. Measures a little over 4 inches high.
