This 1950s Asian doll was a souvenir of Korea, probably sent or brought back home from a solider. She's 14 inches tall, dressed in the traditional Hanbok costume and mounted on a 3-3/4 inch wood base. All of the fabric, including the sculptured face, is silk. The facial details are very realistically hand painted. Unlike later Asian style boudoir dolls of the 1960s and 1970s, her skin is powder white. The doll is in very good condition with no stains, tears, or damage other than a very light, faint dust smudge on her nose. I have a companion male doll from the same estate also listed in the shop.
