Hand Painted Roses Porcelain Ceramic Table Lamp
This pretty ceramic table lamp is from the 1940s to 1950s. The body is a graceful double handled urn or vase shape above an ornate footed base, both hand painted with pink roses and green leaves. Both pieces are then mounted on a brass colored cast metal base. The rose decoration is signed by the artist but I can't make out the signature. The background color is creamy white, with the scrolls and flourishes trimmed in gold. You can remove the metal base if desired - it does have some pitting and and verdigris.
The lamp measures 33-3/4 inches high to the top of the brass finial, 21-1/2 inches to the base of the socket. It has a 6 foot long white cord with the old fashioned, non-polarized type plug. There is no shade. It works fine and is in excellent vintage condition with no damage or issues. Because the ceramic body and base are separate pieces on top of the metal base, the lamp will need to be taken apart for safety in shipping. The buyer should be comfortable reconnecting the pieces and re-attaching the wires to the socket.
