This unusual vintage covered Bar-B-Q Sauce pot was made in Japan, probably in the 1940s or 1950s. It's made of aluminum and has a bright cherry red handle and lid knob. It's probably plastic rather than Bakelite, but I didn't test it. The saucepan is 3-1/2" deep to the rim by 5-1/8 inches diameter, not including the pour spout. The lid has steam vents and the front is embossed "Bar-B-Q Sauce" below the spout. The interior of the pot has some shallow pitting but is clean. The lid and the outside of the pot below the rolled rim could use some cleaning. There are no dents or dings. When not in use at your outdoor cookouts and BBQs, it will display beautifully in a vintage red and white kitchen.
