This colorful vintage carved and hand painted low wooden bowl is a Mexican batea bowl, a form of folk art tole painting. It's 11 inches diameter by about 1-3/4" deep, painted with bright pink, blue, white, and red flowers with green and yellow leaves. The wood has a tight, natural hairline crack which is pretty well camouflaged by the painted decoration. A serrated metal wall hanger has been applied to the back side, you will need to remove it if you don't want to use the bowl as a wall hanging.
