This rare figural antique glass Christmas ornament was made in Germany in the 1930s. It's called Radio Monkey and depicts a monkey sitting in a wicker chair, the word Radio embossed across the front of his hat (I have no idea why). The ornament is 4-1/2 inches high, silver with painted red and gold details. The inner mercury silvering has degraded some above the monkey's nose, causing a slight transparent effect when held to the light. The rest of the ornament has nice, reflective silvering. It's hard to determine the amount of paint loss as I don't know how much pink was at the front of the monkey originally. There are no chips or breaks.
