A scarce set of miniature scene Christmas lights made in Italy in the 1950s. The lights are inserted into the backs of 10 concave snowball scene ornaments which have a variety of diorama style painted hard plastic gnome or dwarf figures, angel, and forest scenes. The backs of the diorama snowballs are covered in white and clear sugar glitter, the insides have silver sequins to emulate snowflakes and reflect the light. A grass or brush-like natural chenille roping material is wrapped around the rims. They're about 2 inches diameter. None of the scenes are duplicated, each one is different, backlit by the hidden miniature bulb.
The lights all work fine, the cord and plug are good, and the original box is intact other than some wear to one corner and the front flap. There is some shedding of the brushy trim and a little loss of glitter to the backs, otherwise the dioramas are all in very good condition.
