A set of seven antique American made Victorian tin Christmas tree candle holders, patented in 1886. They're an unusual pinch clip type, with two flat punched metal discs at the bottom that attach to the tip of a tree branch. The candle holders are attached to the bases with a curled strip of tin, each with raised bands that are pinched around the candle to hold it upright. About 1 inch diameter at the bases, 3/4" diameter at the tops.
The candle holders still have most of their original coloring, transparent lead based washes of magenta pink, dark and light blue, and green. Remains of old colored wax are still present. All seven are in excellent condition for their age with no breaks. The undersides of the upper discs are marked "Pat. '86" - there appears to be a month and date as well but I can't make it out.
Specializing in antique and vintage Christmas all year round, plus antique to Mid-Century copper.
