A pair of Japan ceramic kneeling angel candleholder figurines from the 1950s or 1960s. One has her hands folded as if in prayer, the other holds a lyre. They wear long white gowns or habits with a pearl lustre finish, their veils or hats resemble those worn by nuns. Each has a gold ring halo, wide spread gold-outlined wings, and a pink applied ceramic flower decorates each base. The candle holders to the side of each angel take a taper-size candle. They are stamped Japan in red ink on the bottoms. Both are in excellent condition with no damage, one has two thin stray lines of gold paint on the back of her wings. Price is for the set of two.
