Darling little hand carved Grand Tour souvenir, late 1800s to earliest 1900s, a desk tray, pen tray log in front and inkwell, with a perfect anatomically correct little cub sitting near. Glass eyes, you know he's an old one. Beautifully crafted and in excellent condition with even the corked ink well lid still with it. Photos tell all! We also just got in a sweet little bear book rack. I'll try to get it ready, click a photo of them together, as I kind of think you'll want them both for your desk. Ski lodge, hunting lodge, Country French or English manor - or just that perfect little accent for a guest room. It is 6" long. All measurements noted on the photos.
Very good to excellent condition for age and type. I see one rough edge to the curved end of the log pen tray, left rear edge (see in our photos, we didn't put any stain to cover it so you can see it - a dab of stain will make it disappear). No chips or damage to the old pressed glass ink pot, and none to its carved wood cover. The pot rests tightly into its carved nest and is perhaps glued in place. Might be why it's still perfect. One old repair to one leg, nicely done. It just shows beautifully. So sweet! It's getting to that time of year when we all go looking for bears, isn't it.
Our photos are large and clear. We do expect our customers to review them all, evaluate the item based on both our description and our images. Thanks for all the compliments - we love what we do! Antiques & Uncommon Treasure - all the best, all the time!
