Elegant antique French Belle Epoque era sterling silver "ecuelle" or legumier, a single serving dish or bowl in wonderful condition with gothic style side handles and wonderful condition! A very alluring and unique piece, the bowl itself has a 4 3/8" diameter and is 6.5" wide with the handles. The French Minerve or Minerva hallmark on the side of the bowl, the tiny number "1" within that mark designates .950 silver content (95% pure silver and higher than the .925 standard for sterling silver). The silversmith mark is for Gustave Veyrat, Paris circa 1894-1911. A wonderful piece, simple enough to fit into an existing fine silver service but unique enough to stand out and attract compliments! Perfect to spoil yourself with yogurt in the morning or, perhaps, sorbet, ice cream or other desserts in the evening. One of three similar pieces that we'll be adding today and in the coming week so, be sure to browse some while you're with us. Thanks!
Very good condition. A small dimple or two and the inside of the bowl with more of a satin finish than gloss but, as you can see, they don't come much finer! See pictures for measurements.
