Lovely antique French Napoleon III to Belle Epoque era Sevres or Bressen style jewelry casket, heavy bronze framework with turned bronze feet, convex kiln-fired enamel panels on all sides in a unique goldstone looking orange with hand painted floral accents and wonderful visual & decorative appeal! Quite unique actually, I don't think we've ever had one with the base enamel in this color. A bit of a metallic look, the orange with sparkling flecks almost looks like the goldstone that micro mosaic jewelry pieces often came in. Hand painted enamel flowers & foliage on all sides and just a beautiful piece.
Very good condition. There are a few hairline cracks visible in a few of the enamel panels but no chips or other damage. The original tufted silk interior lining is fully intact but with a few thinning or threadbare spots. See pictures for measurements.
