An exceptionally fine old matching original set of sewing scissors, embroidery scissors (3 in all) still beautifully preserved within the original red leather case. We've found numerous of these old cases, and a few with 3 scissors within, but it's very rare to find the whole original matching set. I've hung onto these myself for a long time, hoping to find more about the maker's name, which is either Faragon or Paragon. I purchased the set in Paris, and they identified them as French origin, but I am unable to confirm it other than by the lovely styling of the handles and the aesthetic, itself. So I will go with French until and unless one of you experts helps me learn a different origin for this maker.
The set is fabulous. Very good to excellent for age and type. The case is supple leather still true at the fold. The scissors have not been polished at all but are a bright silver steel or perhaps silver plated steel? Slight tarnish and a little staining on the blades, visible for your review. Again, I have not polished these. Just tucked them away for years now. Measurements of each are noted on the photos. Please look there.
