In large format, approximately life-sized view of a handsome young gentleman in Military uniform, the painting is from France and I am not any sort of an expert in military uniforms but assuming that's what we have. You experts, please let me know more about this one. I bought it because it's immensely appealing as a work of art, and that glamorous c.1880-1900 mustache - an instant ancestor or center to a display and collection of militaria. I'm sorry, but I can't read what is on that award or badge he's wearing. I bought it at auction in Paris. Ready to frame or to hang or display just as he is.
Very good to excellent condition for age and type, there is one spot above his right shoulder where there's a push that shows on the canvas as a slightly indented spot. We've shown it well in our photos for your review. I don't see any restoration on the painting's face, so the 2 patches on backside of the canvas were very well restored long long ago. Nicely stretched on original stretcher frame. The painting is 27" x 22" and approximately .75" depth.
Our photos are large and clear. We do expect our customers to review them all, evaluate the item based on both our description and our images. Thanks for all the compliments - we love what we do! Antiques & Uncommon Treasure - all the best, all the time!
