Isn't this a fun one! The case is made like a grand old wall clock, but it's actually a pocket watch stand or holder. The silver watch you see displayed within does not come with the case, as we've noted, but is there to show you how the item is to be used. It hangs and would be a fabulous accent for any doll collector's doll house, due to the perfect sized down 10" height overall, tip to tip. It is 3.75" widest and 2" deepest, holds a standard pocket watch, so can be a working clock for some lucky 19th century Bru or other special doll. Or just a fun way to display your family heirloom pocket watch so it becomes a bedside clock, which is how it was meant to be used when made.
We'd date it c.1850-1890. Fine form and condition, glass in place and no breaks or flaws to point out. Great patina to the old oak (It's oak, I think - I'm terrible with wood). Measurements noted above and directly on photos. Watch not included.
Our photos are large and clear. We do expect our customers to review them all, evaluate the item based on both our description and our images. Thanks for all the compliments - we love what we do! Antiques & Uncommon Treasure - all the best, all the time!
