Exceptional antique French sterling silver 15pc dessert and/or tea & coffee set including TWELVE teaspoons, sugar tongs, pele a tarte or pastry serving pieces and all with a beautifully ornate pattern and kept in the original fitted storage and/or presentation box! Aren't these superb! All pieces in hallmarked French sterling silver, a striking ensemble perfect for the upcoming Holiday and entertaining season! Two larger serving pieces, one with more of a knife shape and the other with a wider blade, the pair perfect for the cutting and serving of cake or pie. Also lovely is the blade decoration, reticulated areas framed with engraved scrolling tendrils and small bird figures perched on foliate branches. Delightful! Sugar tongs with those lovely lion's paw tips and a complete set of twelve tea or dessert spoons. All pieces bear the French Minerve or Minerva hallmark, the tiny number "1" within those marks means they're in .950 silver (95% pure and higher than the .925 standard for "sterling" silver). The silversmith marks are for Henri Soufflot, Paris circa 1884-1910. Stunning, don't miss them!
Excellent condition. I see nothing worth mentioning regarding their condition other than the possibility of very slight surface scuffing. The box or chest is also in great shape, just a few signs of its age. See pictures for all weights and measurements.
