Elegant antique French sterling silver handled 2pc salad serving implement or utensil pair, each with ornate Classical or Empire style pattern including beed & acanthus accents and in a fitted storage and/or presentation box! Aren't these gorgeous! Salad serving spoon and fork, each 11 3/8" in length and both as ornate as can be! The handles bear the post-1838 French Minerve or Minerva hallmark, the tiny number "1" within those marks means they're in .950 silver (95% pure and higher than the .925 standard for "sterling" silver). Silversmith marks are generally tiny and I haven’t seen them on these handles yet. We have a beautiful assortment of fine antique French sterling silver, one of the best online so be sure to browse a bit while you're with us. Thanks!
Very good to excellent condition. Very, very faint dimples and surface scuffs possible to the sterling handles but no dents, damage or repairs. The celluloid? spoon bowl and fork tines are all in great shape. The box is also in great shape, likely original. See pictures for all measurements.
