Fine, large antique English hallmarked sterling silver 2pc serving spoon set in the original box, each with lovely figural handles including winged cherub or putti figures and expansive gilt or vermeil bowls! The hallmarks are for William Hutton & Sons, London (registered in 1894) and the date letter is for 1903. Both pieces are in thick, heavy sterling silver and both are in superb condition, beautifully kept in the original fitted storage and/or presentation box. Perfect serving pieces for fruit or salads. Yes, the Holiday season is fast approaching, are you ready for entertaining? A pair you'll love to get out and use, impress with and they're great conversation starters, too. Lovely, don't miss them.
Very good to excellent condition. Just as you see them, no bending to the handles, no dents o flaws to those large gold bowls. Possibly a slight bit of fading to the gold or vermeil finish but they really do look like they've been well cared for over the years and the box helped with that for sure. The box does have a visible age or drying crack in the lid. The inside of the lib bears a gold stamp reading "The Northern Goldsmiths & Silversmiths Company, 1 & 3 Blackett St., Newcastle". See pictures for all weights and measurements.
