We have a number of really fine mid-late 1800s Italian micromosaic frames to list, each of which dates between c.1860-1900, and would have been Grand Tour souvenirs to that very early era of travelers who visited Italy. The mosaic is entirely worked in tiny bits of colored glass called "tesserae" and these are spectacular. Come and see!
This one is a gem frame in shape of a heart. It has a newly cut brass back cover, but the original glass and backing easel stand and all of the tabs to hold it together. All you need is your favorite small 'gem' photo to add. Perhaps your own Grand Tour souvenir of your trip to Italy, or a reminder that it's on your Bucket List? These frames are so popular, we can't ever keep them in stock. But we sure try.
Very good to excellent condition for age and type, this one is a gorgeous little beauty with the shape of a heart being so rare to find. There is a little loss to those flowers upper right - please notice in our images. Otherwise nothing to report by way of damage. Glass and back are in place and all 3 original tabs and the original easel stand are also intact. Ready to use and enjoy. A gem, just 3" tall.
