This is an aperitif or Absinthe set. It's missing one item, the sugar bowl. The set was a popular item in France in the late 1800s when the cabaret crowd was into Absinthe. The liqueur was poured over a sugar cube that rested atop a perforated spoon, and was mixed with water. The large decanter is for water, the small for the Absinthe and the 2 goblets for serving. Only the sugar bowl is missing. One can enjoy this set at table with wine, however. Beautiful electric blue French glass with hand applied enamel decoration - a gorgeous set.
Very good to excellent condition, the pieces that remain. They are without the sugar bowl that would have been part of the original set so it is not quite complete. But it's in fine condition as you see it, without chips or cracks or damage to note. Perhaps a little rub to the applied gold enamel, but nothing serious for its advanced age. Original stopper. Likely would have also had a stopper in that small decanter. Superb at table!
